Thank you for visiting. I’m delighted to share a little about my relationship with sound and the work I now offer.
Sound and music have been central to my life for almost three decades. Long before I began working in wellbeing contexts, sound was the thread that ran through everything I did — as a DJ, music producer, event organiser, and teacher. My fascination with sound has always been rooted in direct experience: how it is felt, perceived, and responded to, both individually and collectively.
Over time, this relationship with sound deepened into listening-led practice. Training as a therapeutic sound practitioner offered a framework through which I could explore sound with greater care, responsibility, and awareness. Today, my work brings together creative sound practice, reflective professional development, and immersive sound experiences that support relaxation, presence, and connection — without prescribing outcomes or interventions.
My work now takes many forms. It may be a one-to-one session, a small group experience, a public event, or a large-scale immersive installation. Across all contexts, my approach centres on listening, sensitivity, pacing, and ethical awareness. I work with a range of sound sources and instruments, inviting people into experiences where sound can be noticed, explored, and felt in ways that are personal and responsive.
In recent years, my practice has expanded more fully into sound artistry. This includes the creation of original audio works and the design of immersive sound-based experiences that invite reflection, emotional resonance, and imaginative engagement. This creative direction has opened new ways of working with sound — not as a technique to apply, but as a medium for sensing, meaning-making, and embodied awareness.
Sound has also held personal meaning for me. After living for many years with a pituitary adenoma, and now having been given the all-clear, sound remains part of how I make sense of wellbeing and experience. I speak of this only as personal reflection, not as a claim — an example of how sound can hold significance and support meaning in individual lives.
The Sound Healing Spa continues to evolve as a place for immersive sound experiences and has been recognised as an innovative tourism and cultural offering. It is proud to be part of Tourism Northern Ireland’s Embrace a Giant Spirit portfolio, reflecting its contribution to visitor experience, creativity, and wellbeing culture.
Alongside this, TESSA UN Ltd supports publishing, education, and sound-based projects, including practitioner development, reflective CPD, and learning systems such as The Sound Oracle. This work supports ethical, listening-led engagement with sound across professional, creative, and personal contexts.
Sound and music remain my greatest inspiration. I continue to produce music and explore creative blends of sound practice as evolving, expressive formats rooted in listening, atmosphere, and lived experience.
Warm wishes,
Tessa Ann
