Experience Armagh Planetarium in a completely different way.

Recline beneath the dome as an immersive journey of live voice, singing bowls, gongs, drums and percussion, atmospheric sound and cosmic visuals unfold around you.

Created and performed by sound artist Tessa Ann, Sound Journey Under the Stars brings together sound, space and visual wonder within the extraordinary setting of the Planetarium dome.

The experience is intentionally limited to 45 participants, creating more space and comfort within the dome.

What will I experience?

Reclining in the Planetarium's fixed seating beneath a full-dome projection of the night sky, you will experience a specially created soundscape brought to life through Tessa Ann's live voice and instruments, alongside subtle electronic and spatial sound elements.

Sound moves throughout the dome as visuals unfold overhead, creating an immersive experience of sound, space and perspective.

There is minimal spoken guidance. Instead, you are invited simply to settle back and experience what unfolds.

Unlike a traditional Planetarium show, this is a slower, atmospheric experience where live sound, visuals and the extraordinary scale of the dome come together.

Taking place close to the Autumn Equinox, the evening also marks a natural turning point in the year.

The setting

The experience takes place in comfortable fixed reclining seating beneath the Armagh Planetarium dome.

The reduced-capacity format allows for additional space and comfort within the environment.

A short introduction will take place before the experience begins.

You are welcome to arrive earlier and explore Armagh Planetarium's exhibition spaces before the Sound Journey.

Sound & health considerations

This experience includes live and amplified sound within the immersive acoustic environment of the Planetarium dome.

As a precaution, this Sound Spa experience may not be suitable during the first trimester of pregnancy or for people with a pacemaker.

If you have a health condition, medical device or sound sensitivity that may be affected by sound or vibration, please contact tessa@thesoundhealingspa.com before booking to discuss whether the experience may be suitable for you.

Sound levels and acoustic conditions may vary throughout the experience. If you are sensitive to sound, you are welcome to bring earplugs or other hearing protection for your comfort.

Armagh Planetarium is a fully accessible venue with step-free access, on-site facilities and car and coach parking.

The experience takes place in fixed reclining seating, and participants are welcome to engage with the experience in their own way throughout.

Cancellation and Transfers

Tickets are refundable up to 30 days before the event date.

Within 30 days of the event, tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to a friend or family member if you are unable to attend. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket.

In the event of cancellation or postponement by the event organiser, refunds or ticket exchanges may be offered.

About Tessa Ann

Tessa Ann is a sound artist and immersive experience creator based in Northern Ireland.

She is the founder of The Sound Healing Spa, creator of The Place to BE collection, and developer of Sound Space Connect®, a framework exploring the relationship between sound, space, environment and human experience.

Through place-based experiences in environments including caves, planetariums, woodlands and heritage spaces, Tessa explores how sound, listening and atmosphere can shape the way people feel, perceive and connect within a space.

Her work brings together sound, environment and sensory awareness to create immersive experiences that are both accessible and deeply experiential.
