Advanced Practitioner Pathway
Overview
This pathway supports practitioners who wish to work with sound in one-to-one settings within a clear, responsible, and relational scope of practice.
This work is grounded in listening, awareness, and response, with sound explored in relation to the individual rather than applied as a fixed method.
The pathway begins through mentored practitioner development and may progress into diploma-level recognition where appropriate.
Foundation and Progression
All practitioner pathways begin with Level 1 Sound for Wellbeing, which provides the essential foundation in sound awareness, listening, and responsive playing.
From this foundation, practitioners may progress into one-to-one work through a mentored and practice-based approach, supported by guidance, reflection, and applied experience.
Approach
One-to-one sound practice is approached as a collaborative and relational process.
The emphasis is on:
- Listening-led and responsive sound work
- Awareness of the physical body and areas often described as energy centres
- Working with sound in relation to lived and felt experience
- Pacing, sensitivity, and professional judgement
- Clear boundaries and appropriate scope of practice
How This Pathway Is Delivered
This pathway is offered through:
- One-to-one or small-group mentoring
- Guided practical playing and application
- Reflective discussion and case-based learning
- Ongoing support shaped by context and readiness
Sessions may take place in person or live online.
Progression to Diploma Recognition
This pathway may form part of progression towards diploma-level recognition in one-to-one sound practice.
Where appropriate, practitioners may choose to complete additional requirements to formalise their training at diploma level.
Mentoring completed as part of this pathway may be taken into account, with the remaining fee applied to complete the diploma.
Investment
This pathway is offered through structured mentoring options:
- 3 sessions — £450 per person
- 4 sessions — £600 per person
For those progressing into this advanced practitioner pathway, Level 1 is completed as the foundation stage.
A combined investment will be outlined based on your chosen pathway and level of support.
